Stratified institutions and elementary homomorphisms

چکیده
For conventional logic institutions, when one extends the sentences to contain open sentences, their satisfaction is then parameterized. For instance, in the first-order logic, the satisfaction is parameterized by the valuation of unbound variables, while in modal logics it is further by possible worlds. This paper proposes a uniform treatment of such parameterization of the satisfaction relation within the abstract setting of logics as institutions, by defining the new notion of stratified institutions. In this new framework, the notion of elementary model homomorphisms is defined independently of an internal stratification or elementary diagrams. At this level of abstraction, a general Tarski style study of connectives is developed. This is an abstract unified approach to the usual Boolean connectives, to quantifiers, and to modal connectives. A general theorem subsuming Tarski’s elementary chain theorem is then proved for stratified institutions with this new notion of connectives. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Homomorphisms of connectome graphs
We propose to study homomorphisms of connectome graphs. Homomorphisms can be studied as sequences of elementary homomorphisms folds, which identify pairs of vertices. Several fold types are defined. Initial computation results for some connectome graphs are described.
متن کاملThe Effect of Noise in Educational Institutions on Learning and Academic Achievement of Elementary Students in Ahvaz, South-West of Iran
Background The learning environment dramatically affects the learning outcomes of students. Noise, inappropriate temperature, insufficient light, overcrowded classes, misplaced boards and inappropriate classroom layout all make up factors that could be confounding variables distracting students in class. This study was conducted to examine the effect of noise in educational institutions on the ...
متن کاملQuasi-homomorphisms and Stable Lengths in Mapping Class Groups
We give elementary applications of quasi-homomorphisms to growth problems in groups. A particular case concerns the number of torsion elements required to factorise a given element in the mapping class group of a surface.
متن کاملHomomorphisms between Diffeomorphism Groups
For r ≥ 3, p ≥ 2, we classify all actions of the groups Diffc(R) and Diff+(S) by Cdiffeomorphisms on the line and on the circle. This is the same as describing all nontrivial group homomorphisms between groups of compactly supported diffeomorphisms on 1-manifolds. We show that all such actions have an elementary form, which we call topologically diagonal. As an application, we answer a question...
متن کاملIntroduction to Neutrosophic Nearrings
The objective of this paper is to introduce the concept of neutrosophic nearrings. The concept of neutrosophic N -group of a neutrosophic nearring is introduced. We studied neutrosophic subnearrings of neutrosophic nearrings and also neutrosophic N -subgroups of neutrosophic N groups. The notions of neutrosophic ideals in neutrosophic nearrings and neutrosophic N -groups are introduced and thei...
